Born in London, England and educated at Charterhouse School, Bruno’s first calling was to engineering. Apprenticed to Bonner Engineering in the UK his time with the company instilled a technical edge along with high standards of maintenance and precision. Beginning his diving career with BSAC before making the switch to PADI Divemaster Bruno has been an instructor since 2009 and went on to manage Buccaneer Diving School in Mombassa, Kenya as well as a brief interlude working in Zanzibar. Now a PADI Master Instructor and Tech Deep diver Bruno is also a keen underwater videographer and photographer. Bruno founded Pure Ocean Dive & Watersports with Rob Small in 2012. He oversees the company’s growth plans and the environmental projects that are an integral part of Pure Ocean’s vision.
Rob Small
Partner & Operations Director
As Pure Ocean Dive & Watersports’ Operations Director Rob has, over the past 15 years in the dive industry garnered a lifetime’s worth of experience and knowledge since starting his career as a snorkel guide with Prodivers Maldives. Gaining his instructor certification in 2004 Rob went on to manage a dive centre in the Cook Islands before taking up the challenge of managing an award winning 16 acre private resort island in Belize. Returning to the Maldives Rob completed construction of a new resort dive centre which led to him overseeing the planning and build of three new dive centres on new resorts in the Maldives. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland Rob is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, a member of the Foundation Trust at London’s Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. In 2019 Rob will also take part in “From Fire To Ice”, an expedition to the South Pole in aid of medical research.
