As an island nation steeped in Polynesian culture and tradition the ocean plays an important part in Samoan life. “Tangaloa”, the supreme deity in Samoan mythology is ruler of the land but also of the seas. Unlike Tangaloa, scuba diving in Samoa is a relatively new pastime meaning as a guest of Pure Ocean you will visit reefs with no other divers but us, dive on sites that quite possibly have never been dived on before and see first hand some of the South Pacific’s most amazing marine life. If you are new to scuba diving you can take your first breath underwater in the tranquility of our swimming pool as part of an introduction to scuba diving or earn your PADI certification to dive anywhere in the world. At Pure Ocean we have tailored our dive program to allow you the flexibility to dive as often as you like, when you like.

2 Tank Dive
Taking in two dive sites at either Manono or Upolu with a one-hour surface interval our 2 Tank trip allows you to complete a full day’s diving in the morning, be back in time for lunch and be poolside for the rest of the day!
Visiting a dive site on either Upolu or Manono this single dive boat trip is a great way to start the day. Usually tailored to divers who are used to diving in current but feel free to ask our staff for guidance as to whether the site will be suitable.
As befits the time of day the afternoon dive boat will visit a site that is generally relaxed and easy to dive but will still give you something to talk about over dinner. Beautiful corals and colourful reef life – good photo opportunities.
A stones throw from Pure Ocean – Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort lays the wreck of Tava’e, a 30m tug boat purposely scuttled in 2013 to create an artificial reef for marine life. Starting at around 12m and dropping down to 27m, it is an excellent dive for spotting nudibranchs.
