Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort
Perfectly placed for adventures in the South Seas
The name Aggie Grey has been synonymous with Samoa since the early 1950’s when Solent flying boats, en route to Papeete in Tahiti would anchor in the very lagoon Pure Ocean now overlooks. Weary passengers were taken to Apia and enjoyed a respite at Aggie Grey’s famous hotel before continuing their journey. Over the years Aggie’s hotel was frequented by Hollywood A-listers such as William Holden, Marlon Brando and Dorothy Lamour and Aggie herself is reputed to have served as inspiration for the character of Bloody Mary in James Michener’s Tales of the South Pacific. In 2005 the descendants of Aggie Grey opened Aggie Grey’s Lagoon, Beach Resort and Spa which in 2013 became part of the Sheraton chain of hotels and resorts and was re-christened the Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort.
